Code Of Conduct

Members and guests of Lordswood Cricket Club will:-

o Respect the rights and dignity of every person within the context of cricket.

o Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or other marital status. religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief.

o Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged any form of discrimination witnessed.

o Display high standards of behaviour and use correct and proper language at all times. Promoting the positive aspects of cricket e.g. fair play.

o Encourage all participants to learn the rules and encourage fair play, respecting the decisions of match officials.

o Actively discourage unfair play, rule violation and arguing with match officials. Recognise good performance not just good results.

o Place the well being of Young People above the development of performance. Ensure that activities are appropriate for the age, maturity and experience of the individual.

o Respect Young Peoples opinions when making decisions about their participation in cricket.
Do not smoke, drink or use banned substances whilst actively working with Young People in the Club (The Boundaries for ‘actively working’ are from the commencement of the coaching session or cricket match to when it is completed and does not extend to the changing rooms or clubhouse area.)

o Not to provide under 18 year olds with alcohol when they are in the care of the Club.
Follow the ECB guidelines set out in the ‘Safe Hands – Cricket Policy for safeguarding children’ and any other guidelines issued.

o Report any concerns in relation to a Young Person, following the reporting procedures as laid down by the ECB.
